Evening fellow sugar lovers! How is it Friday already? I hope your week has been a good one. As usual, this week has passed by in a complete blur for us here at Laura's HQ. We're busy working away in the office on exciting new products ready for the Christmas period...it feels like we have yet to feel the sunlight this week. So I thought for tonight's blog post we'd venture outside again, and bring you the first post in our 'Out and About' blog series. The 'Out and About' series will focus on the shows and eventing side of the business, and bring you a photographic diary of all the events we travel to across the country. Last weekend we had the pleasure of attending the Vintage Market at Sheffield Antiques Quarter.
The Vintage Market brought together traders from all across Yorkshire, all mixed together at the iconic Abbeydale Picture House! Joined by a love of vintage, unusual antiques and of course...a love of great food!
We had our delicious fudge bars as the focus of this event, with over 16 flavours of our handmade fudge on offer. I mean, we might be biased but just look at them! How can you resist a tower of fudge?
The event took place against the backdrop of the iconic Abbeydale Picture House...with its heritage stretching back to the 1920's what better place is there to host a vintage market? We even managed to sneak off for a cheeky look inside the BEAU--TIFUL building. Would definitely recommend for anyone thinking of visiting Sheffield!
It really was an eclectic mix of stalls and traders there. I may or may not of snuck off in the afternoon to grab myself a beautiful piece of handmade jewellery....ooops. A girl can never have too many statement rings, right? Plus we're all for supporting independent business!
Vintage markets, live music and handmade fudge...that's a pretty perfect Sunday recipe in our eyes! The Vintage market was in it's first year of running, and we will definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for next year's confirmed date! We always love hearing from our customers, and @natalieclarewilson was just one of the fabulous sugar babes we met on the day! Don't be shy, you can always tweet us, tag us, post on our socials at any time - we really would love to hear from you!
So, we had an absolute ball! This weekend we are busy in our LAAVELY shops, with our Yorkshire Wildlife Park store, and our shop at the York Designer Outlet open and ready for business all weekend! What are your plans this weekend? Is a vintage market on your list? If any of you guys know of any markets or food fairs that you think we should feature at, we'd love to know!
Have a fantastic weekend guys - we hope it is the sweetest!
